Position Overview:
This position provides strategic analysis to support the expansion of New York Media’s digital audience. The top priorities are to identify and track key trends in our websites’ metrics and find opportunities to drive consumer engagement. This role leads the development and analysis of all reporting relevant to guiding improvements to the Company’s websites and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
•Manage the day-to-day compilation and reporting of web analytics:
-Ensure key data is tracked, analyzed and reported on to business owners regularly.
-Distribute dashboards and other detailed traffic reports for all of the Company’s websites periodically.
•Compile and analyze the monthly traffic results for the Company’s websites and present to key stakeholders. These deep drilldowns would focus on traffic from key referral sources (search engines, social media, partners) and the activity of new vs. return visitors.
•Identify audience segmentation opportunities with respect to marketing channels, user behaviors, site traffic patterns, demographics and psychographics to drive audience growth.
•Generate creative solutions on how to increase website visit frequency and drive conversions such as social media fans/followers, registrations, newsletter sign-ups and magazine subscription sales.
•Leverage quantitative analytics to assess impact of current marketing programs and product development rollouts. Advise stakeholders on future efforts accordingly.
•Ensure the needs of editors and writers are met with respect to understanding how well content areas are performing and address specific inquiries as needed.
•Collaborate with the digital product owners to formulate and execute new online strategies and projects. Stay abreast of industry best practices and applicable ideas gaining traction with consumers.
•Evaluate traffic from social media sites and analyze related marketing efforts to identify growth opportunities. Regularly inform the social media team as to what’s driving engagement on the Company’s accounts as well as for the social media domains overall.
•Lead the process of implementing new reporting tools deemed necessary for the advancement of audience understanding. Discovering actionable audience metrics via regular and ad hoc reporting is critical.
•Guide the assumptions for existing forecast models based on current trends and assessments of upcoming editorial, product and marketing efforts.

Ideal candidate profile:
•Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations.
•Highly proactive and solution-oriented.
•Understanding of web analytical & audience metrics with at least 3 – 5 years of working experience. Omniture expertise a must.
•Fluency in web technologies, online content publishing and social media.
•Knowledge of other digital media and research reporting tools (Google Analytics, ChartBeat, Facebook Insights, Bit.ly, Comscore, Quantcast, etc.).
