Public Relations Manager for the Americas (US, Canada, and Latin America) is an excellent opportunity for a driven, enthusiastic, and results-oriented individual. The role is responsible for all strategic and tactical PR functions for all of Mergermarket’s products, which include mergermarket, Debtwire, dealReporter, Xtract Research, PaRR, and several others.

The PR Manager will play a key leadership role in developing and implementing effective PR strategies to raise the profile of The Mergermarket Group within the advisory and corporate community using both traditional and non-traditional outlets as well as other online channels such as videos, social media, etc. The ideal candidate has a strong media relations background with great contacts and a passion to own the PR function at a rapidly growing company.

Job responsibilities:

•Promote our data and intelligence to regional and national media including print, broadcast and online by actively pitching story ideas, gauging interest and initiatives that resonate most
•Work as a part of a collaborative team with other PR and Marketing members across the globe to create comprehensive and consistent messaging for all of the company’s products
•Proactively test and experiment new online tactics to increase our brands’ reach
•Build and sustain strong relationships with key journalists, media, and associations
•Oversee and update the company’s websites, ensuring from a PR perspective that the firm is represented appropriately
•Write, develop, edit and distribute press releases including quarterly PR, Legal and Financial league table releases, report and survey result publication releases, and corporate development releases
•Track competitors to ensure maximum media coverage and pursue placements in trade and vertical press
•Work closely with marketing, sales and editorial teams and other stakeholders across The Mergermarket Group to ensure public relations strategy, resources and messaging are aligned to business needs/opportunities
•Effectively measure and report on media placements
•Prepare executives and spokespeople for media interviews

Key qualifications:

•At least 3 years of experience in either public relations or communications
•Ability to manage your own schedule and responsibilities
•Successful track record at developing integrated public relations initiatives
•Ability to quickly grasp product and industry information and translate for appropriate audiences
•Creative, aggressive, self-motivated, innovative communicator with strong writing and media relations skills
•Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related fields preferred
•Experience or knowledge of the financial services sector is strongly desired
•Knowledge of social media is a plus
•Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
