Media Relations Coordinator/Specialist - Temporary
C-SPAN is seeking one fulltime temporary Coordinator/Specialist for its Media Relations department. The person will work to increase awareness of C-SPAN’s programming and initiatives by cultivating and strengthening relationships with the media, particularly local media. This person will focus on local/targeted press opportunities to feature C-SPAN programming projects including the First Ladies Series, Local Content Vehicles and StudentCam. The person also will work with and respond to key media clients, monitor use of C-SPAN news and programming content and manage our schedule distribution and promotion efforts.Interested applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, minimum two years related work experience, such as marketing, public relations and press relations. Candidates must also have established press relations with political and media-industry reporters, ability to take a creative and innovative approach to identifying opportunities to pitch story ideas, possess fluency in social media and have polished presentation skills.
