RESPONSIBILITIES

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Director of Events in the Department of Communications. The Director of Events will be responsible for overseeing events and programming designed to attract media coverage and promote the BPC. This position reports to the Vice President of Communications.

The specific duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

•Develop strategies to promote the BPC brand through events

•Work with Communications, Development and Legislative teams to strategize and conceptualize new BPC events, including topics and participants, which are compelling, timely and newsworthy

•Cultivate and grow relationships with external event partners, including offices of BPC founders and leadership

•Oversee the BPC’s events team and provide direction to ensure compelling, timely programming and smooth execution of all event logistics

•Directly interface with projects and the development team to generate ideas for programs and events

•Work with events team to plan and execute creative, relevant programming, such as the Bridge-Builder Breakfasts, the Annual Political Summit and other special events

•Develop and maintain standards of event execution

•Work with events team to coordinate post-event evaluations

•Work in partnership with the VP of Communications to forge productive working relationships with peer organizations and generate new ideas and opportunities for events and collaborations


QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree
•Strong writing and editing skills
•Five to seven years of relevant experience in events
•Management experience strongly desired
•Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
•Must be able to manage multiple tasks; communicate effectively; work with little direct supervision; and work in a team environment
