Responsibilities •Work with and report to the President/CEO and the VP for Strategic Communications to develop and implement a strategic positioning plan for the organization, and to build, grow, and protect the Climate Central brand.•Build and maintain relationships with key climate and energy reporters, producers, bloggers and writers, with a strong emphasis on generating local media coverage of Climate Central content.•Work with Climate Central’s staff researchers, senior science writers, news editors and climate scientists to develop and execute messages and media strategies across all platforms for all Climate Central content, including research reports on climate and energy, and our work with TV weather forecasters nationwide. •Expand media coverage of all Climate Central content, across all platforms.Qualifications •Significant experience in leadership and management of a multi-service communications group.•Strong relationships with key players in environmental, energy, and mainstream media.•Demonstrated success in building brand identity, strategic positioning and expanding the media coverage and profile of an organization.•Ability to work on a team, to lead and respond to breaking events in the news cycle, and work in a deadline environment.
