Web Analytics Specialist

Hanley Wood, www.hanleywood.com, is currently seeking a Web Analytics Specialist in the Business Media division. The Web Analytics Specialist will be responsible for providing analytic reporting to internal partners and business managers, as well as highlighting trends in the data for decision making and strategy. This individual’s strengths will lie in reporting and querying of data, providing data insights, and making recommendations of new data trends to monitor. The Web Analytics Specialist will report directly to the Online Media Optimization Manager.

Major Responsibilities and Related Duties Include:

- Develop dashboard reports for product performance measurement, segmented by brand and activity
- Provide reporting and query support to larger team
- Provide internal training/support to users on Google Analytics (GA) basics
- Analyze the competitive landscape with regards to traffic and stickiness - track and compare traffic drivers to competitive sites, recommend product enhancements to increase traffic based on research
- Recommend website and product changes based on insights drawn from analysis that improve overall performance and traffic
- Review business needs and ensure that key pages, events and user behaviors are tracked appropriately and measured accurately
- Assist in evaluating the quantitative benefits of new business initiatives by having a thorough understanding of online customer behaviors
- Manage business aspects and work closely with IT on technical aspects of web analytics application
- Recommend and oversee improvements to analytics solutions
- Informing members of the team about new capabilities of software packages, emerging analytics best practices, and training opportunities.

Qualified Applicants must possess the following Skills, Education, and Experience:

- BS/BA Degree plus 3-5 years of experience in quantitative analysis of website and customer performance or marketing programs
- Strong understanding of online media models and metrics, web analytics, marketing analysis or statistical methods
- Google Analytics experience required, Omniture experience preferred
- Experience with Ad performance data preferred, along with DFP experience
- Strong analytical background, demonstrating an ability to collect data, analyze trends, and make recommendations
- Experience in deriving actionable business information from complex operational data
- Ability to use reporting tools to uncover sources of operational problems
- Detail-oriented, well organized and able to assume responsibility for specific project deliverables
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to dependably deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires ability to handle multiple tasks
simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment required
- Experience working within an online media environment
- Multimedia tracking (videos, etc.) preferred
- Proficient in all MS office applications
