The Managing Director, Content is responsible for strategy, vision and execution of content solutions at Imagination. In collaboration with the VP, Content Strategy, the Managing Director will work with a portfolio of clients and cross-channel content teams to develop strategic content marketing plans. The Managing Director will manage and work with a team of Content Directors and Strategists to translate creative vision and client needs into compelling, executable campaigns and long-term programs that meet client business objectives and ROI.

In this role, the Managing Director will ensure ongoing success in production and creation through supervision of staff members and coordination of varied operational teams. The Managing Director must stay abreast of new technologies in the pursuit of creative excellence while working to inspire, lead and excite a team of multi-talented content creators. Candidates should have deep experience working across print, digital and social channels, and should be skilled at using measurement and analytics to optimize content programs. Experience in creating campaigns to increase qualified lead generation is preferred; knowledge of automated marketing tools is a plus.

Specific responsibilities include:

Work with Content Directors and Strategists to formulate strategies for the integration of content across multiple channels, including print, digital, broadcast and social media; oversee all content production and management.?

Lead audience development, content audits, competitive assessments and creation of message hierarchy for individual accounts, and motivate the creative team to develop and execute integrated content strategies, setting direction and priorities per client.

Manage cross-functional team in developing, implementing and optimizing a content program designed to increase qualified lead generation, and work with client partners to track progress and achieve positive results.

Assist Content Directors and Strategists with identification of opportunities for account growth through creation of new projects/deliverables and ways to meet the client’s goals and objectives through the use of content.

Assist VP, Content Strategy with setting and enforcing standards of editorial excellence throughout the organization, ensuring content provided by editors, designers, clients and/or freelancers is outstanding in its final form and thereby upholds the content values of Imagination. This may include streamlining processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, improve communications and enhance quality.

Coordinate activities between content and operational teams; oversee production meetings, resolve bottlenecks, ensure communication, resolve problems, make decisions, etc.

Assist Account Directors in the development, maintenance and growth of individual accounts.

Ensure that editorial and brand integrity/positioning are maintained across all clients and distribution channels; oversee development and organizational adherence to quality standards, budgets and schedules. Provide feedback and critique on design, concept, layout, copy, etc.?
Consult with the VP of Talent as necessary regarding resource challenges and opportunities

Ensure that team infrastructures and environments are conducive to meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Develop and maintain a high-performance content team (employee, contract and freelance) committed to on-time delivery of content, editorial/creative excellence and exceeding the client expectations.

Clearly communicate team and individual expectations, establish performance benchmarks and routinely track department’s performance against benchmarks.

Establish and promote a culture of teamwork, commitment to excellence and ongoing professional development that will contribute to positive morale and employee retention.
