Digital Account Director, International Advertising (New York City)

Publicitas, the world's largest media representation firm, sells ad space to US advertisers on behalf of premium media properties in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Canada, and Latin America. We currently have an opening in our New York office for a Digital Account Director.

The Digital Account Director will work closely with the Vice President, Sales Director and Digital Campaign Manager to grow ad revenue across all major categories and provide regular reports on progress to Publicitas’ top publishers worldwide. Publicitas’ portfolio includes all the international Elle websites as well as most of the leading news and business paper’s web properties around the world, such as Guardian.co.uk, LeMonde.fr, SCMP.com, Standard.co.uk, Kommersant.ru, TimesofIndia.com, Nikkei.com, StraitsTimes.com, TheGlobeandMail.com, and ElPais.com.

This position entails:

•Establishing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of existing clients and their agencies andpresentingthem with relevant digital media solutions in non-US markets
•Prospectingand developing new clientsand growing existing business
•Acting as a liaison among our clients, sales staff, back office, and international publishers to facilitate successful international online advertising campaigns
•Crafting custom sales pitches based on publisher-provided information to fit each client’s needs
•Understanding Publicitas’ sales pitch and transmitting our value proposal to digital agencies to win over new accounts
•Pitching various media vehicles in different countries and bundling them into a compelling digital proposal
•Providing excellent customer service to premium US advertisers, their agencies, and international publishers
•Ensuring success of publisher visits by coordinating client meetings andescorting them on relevant calls
•Working together with Vice President and Sales Director on strategic projects and pitches
•Providing guidance to sales team on ad hoc basis as the company’s resident digital guru
•Identifying new media partners that would help generate new digital revenue streams
•Supervising the company’s Digital Campaign Manager

Key requirements:

•Min. 5 years experience in digital ad sales
•Possess strong established relationships with main digital advertisers and their media agencies, with travel, finance, fashion/lifestyle, and education being the top categories
•Strong prospecting skills and solid network of agency connections
•Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask and prioritize projects
•Understanding of high-CPM premium display ad space with often limited inventory
•Experience working not just with pure players digitally but also selling smaller companion websites
•Entrepreneurial spirit-- Publicitas is a small structure inside a global network of offices
•Familiarity with working in a multicultural / multilingual environment
•Ability to work with partners whose native language isn’t English, have different working habits, and are in a different time zone
•Ability to work as an intermediary between clients and publishers
•A quick study, can-do attitude, extremely adaptable, great problem-solver
•Mobile advertising experience as well as RSS feeds advertising a plus
•Knowledge of international media landscape helpful
•Prior agency, rep firm, or publisher experience preferred

Conversational knowledge of French, Spanish or Portuguese helpful
Having worked or spent time in a different country is a plus

Position requires working closely with and reporting to New York-based Vice President.
