Media Storm has an opening for a National TV Media Buyer in our Los Angeles office. The National TV Media Buyer position was put in place to successfully negotiate and manage client plans and buys for TV media that effectively correlate with clients’ goals and objectives, while managing and mentoring Coordinator personnel in the Broadcast department. The ideal candidate has previous theatrical studio experience.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Strategic Buying

-Must have extensive market knowledge, strong market/vendor relationships in all national media disciplines
-Devises strategies for TV media plans and oversees TV buying activities
-Creates and presents strategic TV media recommendations to internal staff
-Explores and maintains research, innovations and changes that affect the TV buying landscape
-Builds relationships with media representatives to maintain business partnerships, gives account updates and briefings for cross-media platforms
-Negotiates best price and media placement for clients
-Supervises and monitors media schedules and contracts with outside media vendors
-Collects and verifies network contracts
-Reconcile billing discrepancies so invoices can be paid
-Manage delivery for posts and secure any compensatory weight that may be required
-Create and present post reports both internally and for the client
-Maintains ownership of accounts with an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial spirit
-Manages positions on lower level (Broadcast Assistant) while effectively ‘managing up’ to ensure communication and effective performance

Additional Responsibilities:

-Provide pricing and availabilities
-Build and maintain business partnerships
-Create (in Strata) appropriate schedules based on client specifications and guidelines
-Evaluate special opportunities and present when necessary
-Order and confirm via Eleven
-Oversee stewardship by assistant strategist, collect and check station contracts
-Monitor pre-emptions, approve makegoods
-Reconcile billing discrepancies in a timely manner, communicate an issues and major deviations
-Submit and explain final post and secure compensatory weight when necessary


-Bachelor Degree preferred
-At least 2 years of media buying experience within agency and/or client environment
-Theatrical studio experience a plus
-Experienced in National Broadcast, Cable negotiations (VOD platform a plus but not required)
-Good negotiation skills
-Detail oriented with strong attention to details and follow through
-Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-Strong verbal communication skills
