Requirements:
This position will be responsible for marketing all classical studies titles as well as supporting the marketing managers, in particular being the point person for all conferences and events. The Marketing Assistant will work within a team of six marketers who handle all of Bloomsbury’s academic and specialist title output for the US market. We are looking for a hardworking, trustworthy, and reliable individual with strong Microsoft Office skills who can make a significant contribution to our publishing program. Reports to: Head of US Academic & Specialist Marketing.

Marketing Assistant duties:
• Take the lead on conference planning, prep, and administration
• Travel to select academic conferences in the US and Canada
• Organize promo materials and send books to author events
• Create and print author flyers
• Research mailing lists and names for the database
• Marketing database maintenance and data entry
• Do market research for particular titles and subjects in both academic and specialist areas
• Check bibliographic details in catalogs
• Produce first drafts of email newsletter briefs
• Help oversee a marketing intern
• General administration

Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree
• Minimum 1 year publishing experience/internship preferred
• Solid understanding of the US higher education market
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills a plus
