Through topical magazines, scholarly journals, conference proceedings, books and digital publications, the Society promotes an active exchange of information, ideas, and technological innovation among its members. We are currently seeking local, qualified applicants for the following Senior Manager Editorial Services position:


•Manages the Editorial Services group, focusing on maximizing internal and external collaboration, increasing production efficiencies, and developing core capabilities especially in technology and new content delivery models for over a dozen Computer Society periodicals.
•Provides staff support for relevant volunteer boards, committees, and communities
•Leads the development of new publishing models to meet current and future market needs, particularly the transition from print to fully digital publications
•Ensures viability of new and future publications
•Creates greater choice and customization in content access
•Ensures the timely, efficient, and low-cost print and online editorial development of CS magazines and related content; meets/exceeds budgetary, schedule, and timeliness metrics


•A BA/BS degree is required
•A minimum of 8-10 years of editorial experience and five years of management experience, preferably in a professional association environment
•Leadership experience in transitioning from print to digital formats, and spearheading creative yet cost-effective multimedia content delivery is required
•Solid understanding of the technology and economics underlying contemporary publishing
•Demonstrated excellence in editorial creativity and the leadership of creative professionals
•He or she must have excellent team-building and cross-collaborative skills
•Experience in proposing, developing, and launching new products
•Ability to edit, summarize, and rewrite technical prose without impairing technical content
•Knowledge of computer industry and terminology
•Ability to handle multiple projects and be detail-oriented
•Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat required, as is experience in layout, design, and production; web page design and implementation is desirable, including common Web graphics formats and site-development applications
•Must be willing to travel as needed
