Full Time
Gannett Custom Media seeks a motivated, creative editor to help produce USA TODAY glossy magazines and other custom editorial products.

We want someone who comes to work with big ideas but who also sweats the small details. An ability to juggle multiple projects with attention to detail is a must, but this assistant editor job also provides ample opportunity to flex your creative muscles, to produce content that consumers will love. A positive attitude is key.

We are specifically looking for an editor with some magazine experience, who understands magazine style and tone, as much of the job will entail planning, assigning and editing content for USA TODAY magazines. These magazines -- on a range of topics from travel to health to women’s lifestyle -- are national publications, sold on consumer newsstands, separate from the USA TODAY newspaper.

Other duties entail working on special sections and packages for use by Gannett’s 81 community newspapers across the U.S. and also developing custom content products that serve national advertisers.

This is an important position, with much responsibility, so we are looking for a candidate with the right mix of skills and passion, someone who can help us as we continually strive to improve our products.

This job is based at Gannett/USA TODAY headquarters in suburban Washington, D.C. Local candidates will be given strong preference.
