As the primary public relations contact for the company, the Vice President of Communications reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

We are seeking candidates with extensive public relations experience, with a particular focus on consumer brands/services. This person would develop and implement a comprehensive public relations strategy, incorporating the objectives of all functions in the company – consumer, technology, business development and advertising sales. We are looking for individuals who have excellent written/verbal skills, are great team players, and have experience managing multi-pronged PR efforts.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive a comprehensive communications and media relations program, incorporating the objectives of Pandora’s consumer, business development and advertising functions

  • Develop and manage the company's corporate reputation initiatives

  • Manage and drive grassroots marketing efforts, including town hall meetings and assorted Pandora listener events

  • Develop and manage communications plans for Pandora, ensuring effective execution carried out in conjunction with external PR agencies

  • Spearhead media and industry analyst outreach

  • Manage corporate announcement process, including writing and editing releases; overseeing internal and partner approval; handling distribution over domestic and international news wire services; and working with Pandora’s product team to ensure timely release posting

  • Cultivate and manage speaking opportunities for all staff

  • Manage onsite media events – interviews, film shoots, photo ops, etc.


Requirements:

  • 15+ years of public relations experience (agency and in-house), including proven expertise in driving successful corporate communications, public relations, media relations and corporate reputation programs

  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior communications role

  • In-house experience at a technology-based consumer product organization

  • Strong background in tactical implementation of grassroots marketing efforts

  • Exceptional ability to represent the company’s passion, purpose and people to media and other external constituencies is a must

  • Ability to collect and synthesize information, while inspiring teams and obtaining buy-in from executives and department managers

  • Experience managing multiple projects, in a fast-paced, high volume environment

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Scrappy, game for any task, and able to adapt to change
