ALM is seeking a Selling Manager for their Law Journal Press division. The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for managing a team of inside sales reps but will also have a sales territory that he or she will be directly selling to.

This sales position will be a hybrid of outbound cold call prospecting and inbound prospect responses generated through collaborative efforts with marketing. The position will require extensive product knowledge and industry awareness, the ability to communicate with single end user decision makers as well medium and large organizations where the decision process may require many touch points.

The management position will be a combination of daily management issues. Leads distribution, discount questions, customer service resolution, activity management, and training. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to switch between cold call prospecting, product training, writing proposals and negotiating agreements and managing sales rep and customer issues for the team.

Management Responsibilities
•Ongoing Training and Assistance with Daily Issues surrounding products support and sales process
•Point of contact for working with Technical Support, Product Support and Customer Service on complex issues
•Support for Pipeline management
•Assist with managing training and retention priorities
•CRM training and support
•Product training and support
•Manage Sales Reps in absence of Director. IE. Floor coverage, focus, ect.
•Assistance in development and implementation of sales procedures
•Troubleshooting and Beta testing new product versions, working with Development team when necessary

Sales Responsibilities include:
•Developing new clients.
•Prospecting and pitching leads through cold calling and web demonstrations and training; following up on leads via email, and telephone
•Building and maintaining relationships
•Providing superior customer service
•Maintaining a lead database
•Attending industry events

•Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
•5+ years of product or solutions sales experience required; at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial capacity. Experience selling legal information products a plus.
•Minimum of 3 years sales experience and sales management experience
•Energetic team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
•A great sense of urgency and accountability.
•A leading work ethic and a competitive instinct to win.
•Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with various executives at client companies including law firm partners and owners.
•Superior verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
•Proficiency with contact management programs or CRM.
