Cambridge University Press seeks a Manufacturing Controller to coordinate the manufacturing of our English Language Teaching (ELT) products, including print and electronic components, from receipt of final file to finished item. Responsibilities include obtaining estimates, tracking them against actual costs, negotiating/setting prices with printers, tracking print schedules, checking proofs and coordinating with editorial, production, and print vendors in order to ensure that the best possible printing solutions are used to create high-quality final products in a timely manner.The ideal candidate will possess 4 years of manufacturing experience in print and electronic media, in offset, web and digital printing environments, prepress and manufacturing specifications, and proficiency in scheduling databases, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office. Database experience, particularly with FileMaker, is desirable. Excellent communication, organizational, negotiating, and problem solving skills are required, as well as attention to detail and ability to work independently.
