Web Producer

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) drives principled solutions through rigorous analysis, reasoned negotiation, and respectful dialogue. Founded in 2007 by former Senate Majority Leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole and George Mitchell, BPC combines politically-balanced policymaking with strong, proactive advocacy and outreach.

As the only Washington, DC-based think tank that actively promotes bipartisanship, BPC works to address the key challenges facing the nation. Our policy solutions are the product of informed deliberations by former elected and appointed officials, business and labor leaders, and academics and advocates who represent both ends of the political spectrum. We are currently focused on health care, energy, national and homeland security, housing, transportation and the economy.

BPC has an immediate opening for a full-time Web Producer in the Department of Communications. The Web Producer will play an integral role in maintaining BPC’s website, multimedia library, and social media platforms. This position reports to the Senior Web Producer and the Director of Communications.


The Web Producer will work with the Senior Web Producer to provide oversight for all aspects of BPC’s website, utilizing video, photos, blogs, and other creative approaches to ensure the website is dynamic, timely and news-driven. The candidate must be editorially strong and detail-oriented with a demonstrated knowledge of online media.

•Conceptualize and execute an online media strategy to highlight BPC’s goal of promoting
bipartisanship in politics. Develop and utilize creative online strategies to promote BPC
principals, events, and policy expertise. This includes:
• Collaborating with BPC staff and projects to maintain, edit, update, and enhance existing
website content; produce new, compelling content, including videos and photos, to enrich
the website and publicize BPC
• Developing new strategies for increasing traffic to BPC’s site
• Developing newsworthy content and responding to the news of the day
• Facilitating outreach to blogs, Twitter followers, Facebook fans, and other websites to ensure
that BPC is involved in the ongoing online media conversation
• Drafting emails and e-newsletters to share new developments with BPC’s followers
• Utilizing web traffic reports to inform and adjust online communications strategies
• Coordinate with website host on existing and new projects and troubleshoot various web-
related problems when necessary while ensuring quality of BPC website content
• Other duties as assigned


•Bachelor’s degree
•1-2 years of web development experience
•Demonstrated proficiency with content management systems, including Drupal, and online media platforms, including Brightcove, Facebook and Twitter
•Experience with ClickDimensions, ExactTarget or other email marketing software
•Proficiency with HTML and CSS, and video editing skills a plus
•Experience with graphic design software a plus
•Strong understanding of web metrics
•Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and projects, and meet deadlines
•Proven ability to work with a team, but capable of working independently and being self-motivated
