Everyday Health is seeking a Sales Planner to support and manage the client acquisition process; the upsell of existing business. This is an opportunity to utilize your outstanding research and creative skills to redefine how media clients are acquired by Everyday Health. You will work with internal clients across multiple departments – Sales, Client Services, Business Development, AdOps and Analytics – and external clients/advertisers to

•develop strategic media plans with Sales
•create plans to maximize revenue opportunities utilizing the best sites, the most precise page placements and appropriate ad size mix for major national agencies and advertisers
•utilize and grow your industry, vertical and client expertise and to use historical campaign information
•assure that potential clients are getting the best possible package put together for new incremental revenue opportunities as well as for continued relationships.
This is a role that will suit someone from a media planner/buyer, marketing and/or account management background. The optimal candidate has media and online advertising experience with strategic, project management and base analytical skills. You will support the assessment of current internal processes and advance and execute frameworks and best practice methodologies, striving for continuous improvement and ongoing expertise when communicating the Everyday Health Product Suite.


The desire to work in a creative and data driven environment with a high performance team in a fast-growing company is essential. An individual with great PowerPoint and Excel skills, the ability to synthesize multi-layered data, and the capability to communicate strategy and results will thrive in this position. The position reports directly to the Manager of Sales Planning.

Responsibilities:
•Develop focused, insightful strategies to effectively/efficiently execute tactical plans with client goals in mind
•Create packages based on inventory and market trends to guide Sales and Business Development on greatest return deals (full RFP process)
•Support Account Executives on proposals to secure new buys and upsells/renewals
•Media planning, communications, follow up and aggregation of multiple vendor deals
•Provide continuous competitive research, leverage industry resources, market trends, base metrics (e.g. ComScore, eValiant, hitwise, Nielsen, emarketer, quantcast, compete, mediametrix, alexa) and liaise with internal stakeholders with regards to competitive analysis to ensure best practices to clients
•Strive for continued improvement and execute on enhanced business processes, tools and recommendations
•Hold frequent meetings with Sales Team/partners as well as other cross-functional internal teams to showcase results, progress and drive best future results
•Hold frequent de-briefing and media plan meetings with Client Services and AdOps to recommend deals that drive best future results
•Standard and ad-hoc reporting: proposal-to-close ratio, sales close ratio, comprehensive senior management performance reporting
•RFP management: create, maintain and improve RFP repository, tracking system and monitor lifecycle
•Provide continuous internal and external customer service (client and team inquires, requests)
•Train internal media proposal team and relevant stakeholders as required for enhance improvement, update training guide as needed
•Attend industry and client events

Qualifications:
Four (4) year college or university degree in marketing or related field

Demonstrated experience in and enthusiasm for agency, publishing or media industry

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel) and Salesforce skills

2+ years experience in market research with strong client-facing expertise preferred

Demonstrated analytical skills and passion for analyzing data, products, companies and market trends, dynamics

Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products internally and externally

Excellent written and oral communication skills with outstanding presentation skills

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams

Understanding of competitive landscape of interactive advertising and media networks

Knowledge of media planning/buying and experience supporting a direct sales organization highly regarded

Develop sound strategic frameworks, make recommendations and demonstrate thought leadership
