The Clarion-Ledger Media Group, the local leader in news and information for the Jackson Metro and surrounding Central MS areas is expanding and currently recruiting for a Digital Advertising Automotive Sales Manager.

As a Digital Advertising Automotive Advertising Sales Manager your primary objective will be to increase digital and print automotive advertising revenue, provide strategic guidance, and develop innovative digital sales solutions for the automotive advertising sales team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain a high awareness and understanding of the market and the competition, and each staff member’s performance to all goal and targets. Hold staff accountable to revenue goals, objectives, KPIs and other metrics. Creates effective formal activity metrics for staff.
Improve the advertising quality and effectiveness through a strategic plan for tactical responses to the changing auto marketplace to increase revenue across all multi-media platforms.
Analyze, review, and track automotive data/reports for directors and sales staff.
Assess client’s needs through the 5 step sales process and develop innovative advertising solutions that meet/exceed revenue goals.
Plan and conduct weekly sales meetings with automotive advertising sales team to improve knowledge and performance.
Develop strategic account plans to ensure revenue goals are met and improve performance within the marketplace.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
3-5 years sales experience including experience selling multimedia advertising with primary focus on automotive.
1-2 years management or sales team leading experience in the automotive or advertising industry.
Intense understanding of digital media platforms. Knowledge of web development and mobile advertising, SEO, SEM, email marketing and social media advertising.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to promote and sell concepts to customers.
Must be able to work through objections/concerns regarding costs, budgets and selling strategies.
Proficient with computers, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Internet. (Windows environment and solid use of online for digital products and ads)
