HarperCollins Children's Books is currently seeking an Executive Editor to acquire high-profile teen and tween fiction.

The Executive Editor:
--Manages a program for a number of high-profile and best-selling authors/programs
--Acquires a certain number of lead-level titles and edits manuscripts for publication
--Shepherds manuscripts through production process and oversees all aspects of the publication process, including working with design to create marketable packages and with the marketing group to develop marketing plans
--Works directly with authors, agents, and all in-house departments
--Oversees fact sheet, jacket and catalog copy; reviews marketing material
--Conducts and analyzes sales research, with a deep understanding of p&ls
--Presents titles at various sales meetings
--Maintains a growing network of industry contacts
--Negotiates contracts with agents
--Shares supervision of an editorial assistant

--Minimum of eight years' editorial work experience or equivalent within publishing industry
--Acquisition and publication of multiple profitable and/or critically viable projects
--Established relationships with relevant agents and industry colleagues; superior negotiation skills
--Experience managing a high-profile house author and/or program
--Proven ability to set priorities under pressure and multi-task effectively
--Strong understanding and awareness of general marketplace and relevant market segments within industry
