TV Guide Magazine is looking for an experienced Public Relations Manager to join our team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Media Introductions:
• Set up strategic meetings with advertising/media trade and consumer reporters for magazine executives;
• Arrange meet-and-greets with key executives and producers at broadcast and cable television networks.

Media Outreach:
• Craft targeted media lists;
• Create and issue press releases, media alerts and pitches;
• Create and establish a weekly pitch that highlights the next week’s editorial features for broadcast and planning producers;
• Pitch story ideas;
• Pitch reoccurring segment ideas;
• Explore exclusive opportunities/broadcast partners;
• Reach out aggressively to targeted media;
• Maintain ongoing media relations.

Breaking News:
• Monitor news on a daily basis for relevant stories;
• Work with editorial staff to identify spokespeople as relevant breaking news arises;
• Reach out aggressively to media;
• Arrange interviews, as appropriate.

Thought-leadership:
• Position TV Guide executives and editorial staff as experts on key topics and major events, focusing on trade and consumer outlets;
• Pursue speaking opportunities, as appropriate, throughout the year.

Brand Integration:
• Continue to look for innovative opportunities for TV Guide Magazine on a regular basis.

Social Media / Website:
• Work in conjunction with marketing and editorial to:
• Support social media initiatives

Reporting:
• Monitor and report on media coverage on a regular basis;
• Attend editorial and marketing meetings, in addition to other PR team and other TV Guide meetings, as needed.


Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• 4+ years experience in TV/entertainment public relations
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills in the areas of message development, press releases, management talking points, and communications plans.
• Demonstrated success in implementing media campaigns, building relationships and securing media coverage in a variety of media outlets.
• Must have media contacts on both the east and west coast (primarily east coast)
• Strong PC Skills - Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Detail oriented
