Mashable is seeking an Events Manager to take the company’s events to the next level. This position is primarily responsible for event operations and production of all of Mashable’s events. This position works closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Director, and the Marketing and Communications team to create and execute Mashable’s event strategy. This person will play a key role in shaping Mashable’s events in 2013 and beyond.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop event strategy working with senior management to address organizations’ goals and needs
• Execute the event strategy through management of operations and logistics
• Financial management of the programs including budgeting
• Sponsorship sales and client relations
• Manage end-to-end program including vendor contracts, payment schedules, workflow release and reconciliation
• Track, measure and evaluate performance of program, customer satisfaction and make recommendations for fiscal and/or process improvement
• Monitor the industry and competition to identify potential partnerships, new opportunities, and line of business threats
• Manage relationships with vendors and venues
• Manage VIPs at all events
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team on marketing strategy and timeline
• Manage signage, credentials/badges and other branded assets
• Manage staffing at all events (includes volunteers)
• Create ticketing program for all events
• Own the events@mashable.com email
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 4+ years events management and planning experience
• Strong project management experience
• Experience with social media and interest in technology
• Ability to negotiate and manage financial information
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Experience with client relations
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strict attention to detail
• Experience with media, advertising or tech industry events a plus
• Hard worker who’s driven and has a fantastic attitude
• Strong organizational skills and strict attention to detail
• Grace under fire
• Familiarity with excel and PowerPoint
• Some travel required
