We are looking for an energetic, bright, hard-working person to join the Bloomsbury USA Children’s Editorial team, reporting to the Publisher. Primary responsibilities include successfully launching a brand new eFirst imprint targeting young adult (and crossing over to adult) readers in Spring 2013.

Editorial duties include:

•Attracting authors from various sources.
•Acquiring projects.
•Editing, copyediting, and proofreading; and commissioning and collaborating with freelance designers to create book covers for roughly 30 eBooks ranging in word count from 25,000-40,000 words.

Digital responsibilities include:

•Liasing and processing eBook files with our vendors, coordinating with our global offices on their eBooks for the imprint, posting eBook files, data/systems management
•Brainstorming and implementing site extras (author posts, Q&As, best book contests, etc.).

Selection Criteria

Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and driven individual who is eager to tackle this exciting new venture. He or she must be:

•Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to juggle many projects under pressure.
•Have strong editing, eBook/digital, and social media skills.
•Be organized, professional, and a creative thinker and problem solver.
•Must be able to take the initiative and work independently. No actual coding skills required.
•Candidate must have a four year undergraduate degree and a strong interest in teen digital publishing.
•Minimum of 3-4 years editorial experience required.
