Web Content Manager
Job Description Summary: Under moderate supervision and with moderate latitude for independent judgment, the Web Content Manager reports to the Senior Editor in the Office of Communications and works in collaboration with all members of Pratt's communications team to oversee, develop, and maintain content for Pratt Institute's web site ensuring consistency of message and visual identity as well as appropriateness and timeliness of content. Position Duties: -Oversee the Content Managers throughout the Institute; Elicit content and ensure content is delivered in a timely manner according to a consistent Pratt style; copy edit and write original content as needed. -Help re-develop the News and Support Pratt areas of the public site and the Funding Resources, Publications, and President's Corner areas of the mypratt.edu internal web portal. -Regularly audit entire Pratt site to identify area that are in most urgent need of updating and develop project plans to address those areas. -Collaborate with in-house and external designers and programmers to redesign and repopulate existing site to better serve Pratt Institute's needs. - Manage web site analytics. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree; 2-3 years of editorial work experience, preferably in a university setting; Experience working with web content management systems (Expression Engine a plus) and metrics reporting tools including Google Analytics; proficiency with Adobe Photoshop; knowledge of Wordpress and Squarespace a plus; Effective communication (verbal and written), organization, and client relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related discipline; proficient in HTML and CSS; knowledge and ability to test web pages for browser and mobile device compatibility. Additional Information: This position will require 28 hours per week. Compensation is on an hourly basis and benefits are not provided. Position funded through June 30th, 2013 with funding expected to be renewed.
