The Chronicle of Higher Education seeks a Marketing Manager to manage the development of production, marketing and promotional campaigns for domestic and global projects for The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and associated product lines in fulfillment of Strategic Marketing and Promotional Plans. This position will work closely with internal Editorial and Business stakeholders, including Sales team members and other cross-functional team members as appropriate. Additionally, the position will partner with the Product Marketing Manager and Conference & Events Manager to ensure that marketing goals and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manages the Strategic Marketing and Promotional Plan Development for Chronicle product lines, overseeing individual campaign asset creation, execution, and campaign analysis.
• Under the direction of the Director of Marketing Communications, develops creative concepts for online and print products including the creation of media kits, sales and marketing collateral, and integrated Web, print, and in-person marketing promotions, working closely with Graphic Designers, Marketing Coordinators and other team members to achieve product line objectives.
• Manages Project Work Schedules for each product, ensuring that deadlines are met and providing weekly updates to Director of Marketing Communications and others as appropriate.
• Ensures consistency of branding and messaging.
• Participates in market and competitive research, preparing reports as directed.
• Participates in creative brainstorming meetings, contributing ideas for new promotional campaigns and product enhancement.
• Manages sales lead generation and nurturing programs, developing strategic plans to generate leads to sales funnel.
• Executes integrated marketing campaigns tracking to Strategic Campaign Strategy and Promotional Plans.

The ideal candidate will be team-focused with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, creativity, and dedication to the success of the organization.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in marketing.

This position requires 3-5 years of in-depth experience in marketing communications, to include creating value propositions, tracking ROI, and creatively executing promotions. E-mail marketing and social media expertise, with proven results, is required. Must be able to perform market research and data analysis. Strong project management skills are required; advertising agency and marketing firm experience is strongly preferred.
