Managing Editorial Coordinator
Major Accountabilities: • Logging and overseeing the timely delivery of single title materials: art fact sheets, cover copy, front matter and back matter.• Working extensively with Excel, in order to update and maintain daily logs, to ensure accuracy of information regarding status.• Coordinating and following up with freelance copywriters and line editors to ensure high quality and timeliness. Recruiting, processing and training of freelancers required when necessary.• Communicating, liaising and following up with NY Editorial, Managing Editorial and Production to ensure scheduling information is accurate, timely and of high quality.• Working within multiple in-house databases to process projects electronically.• Supporting the Managing Editor on special projects as needed. Qualifications, Skills and Competencies: • B.A. or equivalent. • Minimum 2 years previous experience in publishing, with an emphasis on trade book production.• PC literacy with hands-on experience working with a variety of database and online programs.• Highly proficient in Excel and Word (using Track Changes). • Familiarity with Adobe. • Ability to manage high volume of materials in fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail and communication skills. • Excellent planning, organizing and technical skills. • Solution-oriented self-starter.
