Circulation/Direct Response Marketing Manager, Automotive News

Core responsibilities include:
•Acquire and retain of paid subscribers for weekly business newspaper and related online products
•Devise and implement direct response campaign testing, targeting, and segmentation to maximize subscription order conversion
•Prepare and file audit statements and oversee annual audits
•Use our business intelligence database to create micro-targeted campaigns designed to convert website registrants, e-mail recipients, and webinar and live event participants to subscribers of paid print and online products; develop audience development goals with publisher and collaborate with marketing/online staff to broaden depth of audience development strategy and tactics
•Identify strategic partnership opportunities with key audiences. Establish relationships, negotiate partnerships and manage the ongoing relationship to ensure maximum benefit for both Crain and the partner
•Link strategic business and marketing needs to CRM capabilities, analytics and tools
•Ensure usage of CRM platform (Business Intelligence Database) to inform and define audience development campaigns that meet or exceed revenue targets
•Coordinate and manage all audience development campaigns from welcome to retention, prospecting and win back
•Ensure sharing of best practices and competitive intelligence
•Manage budget; verify/approve spending to meet or exceed budget expectations
•Support and grow new business opportunities (IE corporate licensing)
•Identify lists and databases for potential subscribers
•Print order and fulfillment
•Engage with publisher to establish goals and plans for each product
•Strategically analyze and interpret audience data (including print promotion analyses, web analytics, digital and total audience analysis)
•Other duties as defined
Position Requirements:
•Must have 3 to 5 years of CRM experience with knowledge of database marketing including audience segmentation and prospecting
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing/media or related field
•Creative mindset with a knack for innovation, questioning old habits, and trying new things
•Database marketing with working knowledge of relational databases
•Comprehensive understanding of CRM campaign performance metrics
•Strong analytical skills with a natural drive for achieving results
•Passion for the customer experience and ability to see things from a customer's perspective
•Strong project management, communication and organizational skills
•Web analytics experience
•Knowledge of circulation audits is desirable
