Director, Value and Yield Management Technology

Conde Nast seeks a Director, Value and Yield Management Technology for a full-time staff position.  
Conde Nast is implementing three new programs to increase advertising on today’s sites,
-         Contextual advertising
-         Search advertising
-         Remnant inventory optimization
To ensure full realization of the site functionality, user experience and revenue performance the company will create a new position to manage the use of sophisticated yield technology along with the deployment of tools and algorithms.
The Director – Value and Yield Management is responsible for yield performance and reporting. He or she works in conjunction with the individual brands, technology organization and sales teams and advertising operations to:
-         Drive full implementation of a new contextual ad program, search ad program and remnant display optimization 
o    Rollout and monitoring of contextual links across the majority of the sites’ pages
o    Fully implement existing and new remnant advertising units across all of the sites
o    Implement of a new organic search program
o    Work with ad ops to deploy the tags and placements on individual websites
-         Monitor revenue optimization with the brands’ individual sales teams, the technology group, advertising operations, the Conde Nast Marketing Group, Consumer Marketing and Conde Nast Senior Management
o    Protect sales teams’ premium revenue objectives
o    Maintain Consumer Marketing/House ads to maintain subscription conversion
o    Continually calibrate advertiser screens and block lists
o    Analyze performance of sites by brands
o    Work with outside vendors to assess performance of context advertising and search advertising programs
o    Manage day-to-day communications with internal clients relating to creative, technology and business questions
o    Prepare detailed analysis and recommendations for campaign optimization
o    Monitor and report on campaigns on a weekly basis
o    Provide analysis and recommendations to optimize campaign performance
o    Determine required updates based on outside partners’ new technology and changes in overall site traffic and performance
o    Evaluate and recommend overall changes to the program based on performance
Given the complexity of the Conde Nast portfolio, this person should be a highly motivated self-starter who will become a “subject matter expert” on search advertising technology, remnant advertising (exchanges, auctions, etc) advertiser level reporting and analysis.
-         At the same time, the person will have the following skills :
-         Quantitative skills, problem solving aptitude and a strong technical background
-         Working knowledge of databases, data integration, and Business Intelligence processes
-         Ability to develop an understanding of the technology tools, advertising networks and real-time bidding platforms
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-         Assist in the development and maintenance of Advertiser-level performance and yield reporting
o    Work with engineering and business intelligence teams to build data capabilities and reporting to support Advertiser Performance and Inventory Management
o    Create and standardize reports and processes that provide a consistent view of metrics for internal clients, including sales and the brand teams
o    Communicate regularly with other teams to understand their needs and initiatives, act as the liaison between the Value & Yield Management team and other departments
-         Support ad-hoc value diagnostics for Advertiser performance escalations
o    Act as Value & Yield Management lead to manage Advertiser Triage investigations.
o    Work with other departments to address needs for process improvements/optimization, etc.
-         Provide analyses to internal clients
o    Acquire necessary understanding to effectively serve various client groups.
-         Track traffic distribution / inventory management by advertiser
o    Analyze Internet performance data to help set advertiser traffic targets by performing internal and external benchmarking and collaborating with cross functional team members from Engineering, Sales and Marketing.
Desired Skills & Experience
-         Minimum of 3-5 years of analytical experience in the online advertising industry or managing businesses across digital and traditional media brands
-         Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and reporting. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
-         Experience in analytics to understand site optimization is a plus.
-         Experience in a fast-paced team environment.  Ability to manage complex projects and work cross-functionally. 
-         Proficient in MS Office with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
-         Working knowledge of databases, data integration, and business intelligence processes.
