Key Responsibilities:

•Feed into and assist in the development of the North America marketing strategy, covering the USA and Canada
•Create and deliver a comprehensive annual marketing schedule outlining all activity for the year ahead and incorporating measurement of ROI on all activity.
•Line manage one Marketing Executive, with responsibility for conducting regular reviews and managing ongoing performance and development
•Implement activities and campaigns within the schedule, both hands-on and through management of direct report
•Provide regular reports and contact with Line Manager and Director, both based in UK office, ensuring visibility of activity and understanding of results against agreed objectives
•Ensure that all activity meets key regional objectives in support of the Sales and Publishing teams; notably to include generation of leads for potential sales, driving the usage of Emerald products and services, and raising general awareness
•Produce and distribute regional marketing and sales collateral as appropriate
•Carry out conference support activities for events within the region, liaising with head office contacts as appropriate
•Regularly gather, analyze, interpret and distribute competitor, market, and product and customer information and ensure all activity is evidence-based, utilizing Emerald’s Business Information and Market Insight capabilities
•Conduct all activity in line with the Emerald brand guidelines, championing the brand in the region
•Work with other members of the global Marketing team to facilitate the flow of information between locations, including regular feedback about impact of marketing activities undertaken
•Monitor, control and work within the parameters of the regional marketing budget.


The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with relevant industry and marketing experience. The candidate will have excellent organisation, communication and analytical skills and be commercially and culturally aware enough to work effectively with people at all levels and locations.
