Together with Firehouse Director and Manager of Youth Programs, the Youth Education Coordinator will participate in planning education goals for the Firehouse youth programs. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for coordinating programs, teaching studio classes, facilitating studio productions, and assisting youth to achieve producer certifications.

Educational
• Assist in development of educational programs and curriculums.
• Teach core workshops in studio production
• Plan and implement calendar of programs, workshops and special events.
• Assist in conducting orientation sessions.
• Develop and coordinate application procedures for youth programs and internships.
• Conduct initial interviews, oversee enrollment, organize class rosters and waiting lists.

Production
• Coordinate youth-led studio productions and manage studio production teams.
• Oversee post-production of studio projects.
• Assist participants with setting studio timelines and delivering projects for cablecast.
• Assist with field production training, as needed.

Administrative
• Prepare summaries of classes and workshops, number of participants and related issues toward continued improvement of training and education.
• Arrange logistics for classes including scheduling, reserving rooms and studios, and preparing handouts.
• Communicate confirmations, cancellations, notes, or other class updates.
• Collect and compile training evaluations by participants and instructors.
• Maintain database and prepare monthly reports.
• Assist with general upkeep and cleanliness of classrooms, studios, and equipment.
• Other duties as may be required.

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelors' degree in media, video, communications, journalism or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years teaching film/video production.
• Curriculum development experience.
• Demonstrated studio and post-production knowledge and skills.
• Working knowledge of software editing applications including Final Cut Pro is required.
• Comfortable with Mac operating systems and databases and experience.

Other Job Requirements:
• Demonstrated interest in community media education.
• Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently, collectively and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, capacity to troubleshoot independently and make recommendations.
• Experience in conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated knowledge of new media technology.
