Freelance Digital Producer
MTV Digital is seeking a freelance Producer to join the production team responsible for the Movie Awards digital execution. This Producer will manage a new transmedia project that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the event’s production through a co-viewing experience on the site and through a branded app. Working alongside an on-air production lead, the producer will help conceptualize, refine and execute both the editorial and product plans, which span from lead-up content to the event experience. The Producer will work closely with the Ad Sales production team to identify sponsorship integration points, and with the Social and Editorial teams to develop a promotional strategy. The position also interfaces daily with digital teams including Tech, Project Management, Design and Integrated Marketing. The Producer is responsible for daily production and the quality of their projects. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, experienced in creating content for digital platforms and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Digital Producers are creative individuals and adept online curators with a strict attention to detail, who are quick to take initiative and above all, are team players. Experience/Skills:- Minimum 4-5 years in online media production based role.- Be highly organized, detail-oriented and a creative thinker.- Command of SEO/SEM and social media best practices.- Experience creating and curating video, photo and editorial assets.- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, HTML editing tools, content management systems and Wordpress.- Passion for MTV brand and deep knowledge of pop culture, movies and music.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Editorial background a plus.- Schedule flexibility and willingness to work evening and weekends when needed. Responsibilities Include:- Communicating with production lead daily/weekly basis to help define and evolve editorial.- Crafting scale and scope of the editorial project.- Maintaining quality content and presentation in the lead up and night-of execution.- Archiving and assigning media stories as production plans develop.- Helping to maintain budget and identify possible implications.- Identifying sponsorship integration points.- Managing and overseeing site updates.- Tracking traffic metrics and usage patterns on all platforms to improve and maximize streams/views.
