Mr. Human Resources
Full Time
The Recorder, which covers the business of law and legal affairs, is seeking a reporter to cover state trial courts in the San Francisco Bay Area for its daily online and weekly print publication.

You’d be covering high-profile cases like consumer class actions and bet-the-company litigation involving some of the most important companies in the region. We need someone who can take business disputes that are often well covered by the mainstream press and find angles and scoops of particular interest to our audience of lawyers and judges. You’d also cover politics —offices of the district attorney, city attorney and some judicial elections.

Our ideal candidate is as comfortable digging through court records as he or she is at developing sources. There's an opportunity to write a mix of breaking news, smart enterprise stories, in-depth pieces and fun blog items.

Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a daily news environment and an aptitude for using social media.

Qualified candidates should submit resume, cover letter and three clips with salary requirements to for immediate consideration. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted. No phone calls or agencies please. ALM is an equal opportunity employer that encourages and values diversity. M/F/D/V
