Editor/Senior Editor - HarperOne
HarperOne, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, is currently seeking an Editor or Senior Editor to acquire approximately twelve titles per year in the areas of health and wellness, spirituality, family and relationships, and general nonfiction. Please note this position is located in our San Francisco office.Since 1976, HarperOne has striven to be the preeminent publisher of the most important books across the full spectrum of religion, spiritual, health, personal growth and social change literature, adding to the wealth of the world’s wisdom by representing many and varied voices.The Editor/Senior Editor:- Solicits, acquires, evaluates and develops manuscripts and proposals. - Contributes to and participates in short and long term development of the publishing program.- Manages and coordinates editorial production and publication schedules.- Oversees fact sheet, jacket and catalog copy; reviews marketing material.- Conducts and analyzes sales research, with a deep understanding of p&ls.- Develops and maintains agent and author relationships.- Shares supervision of an editorial assistant.Requirements:- Minimum 5 years of relevant editorial experience; minimum 7 years of relevant experience at Senior Editor level- Established agency contacts- Excellent negotiation skills and strong presentation skills- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels across the organization- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail- Ability to work independently and set priorities under pressure- Excellent written and oral communication skills- Proficient knowledge of MS OfficeTo apply, please submit your cover letter and resume through our website: http://harpercollinscareers.com.
