Design and Production Officer
Reporting to the Design Director, the Design and Production Officer will support the Print and Digital Media department in a number of capacities, including assisting with project brainstorming and development, brand consistency and management, and fastidious file organization. Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (included but are not limited to):Design of Printed and Digital Media: •Design of a variety of printed and digital materials including:oInvitations and event collateral oInfographic pages, toolkits, magazine (tri-annual) and newslettersoFinancial reports and proposalsoBriefing Books and Field Guide PamphletsoSignage oPowerPoint presentationsoDigital banners and web advertisementsoInteractive PDFsoPlaques/certificates Production, Photo Research and Coordination: •Engage appropriate print and digital production vendors based on project requirements.•Communicate with print and digital production vendors about project specifications. This includes but is not limited to: developing print specifications, obtaining print quotes, negotiating print prices, filing print specs and quotes, and adjusting them appropriately throughout the project’s lifetime, organization of vendor information and contacts.•Gathering files, finalizing production work, and sending final files to the printer. •File uploading and publishing through CMS.•Researching and gathering images and artwork for various projects and assisting with the organization of creative and digital assets and files. •Completing design production as required including help with image editing/photoshop, color correction, file gathering and packaging, creating mockups/mechanicals.Qualifications:•BFA in design or related study and two to three years of experience in creative services or design field•Sophisticated and strong graphic design skills; fluent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)•Knowledge of printing and digital production process •Ability to manage multiple tasks, collaborate with colleagues and work in a fast-paced environment•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail •Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of print production and file packaging/handling; knowledge of HTML, CSS; •Familiarity of CMS systems (knowledge of Convio is a plus)•Familiarity with digital publishing/web production (Wordpress/blog management.)•Must demonstrate USF Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service"NO PHONE CALLS"
