The Director of Sales – Custom Projects is responsible for the effective conversion of prospects into customers across ALM’s Custom projects product & services portfolio, whether those prospects are contacted via phone, Internet or on-site presentations.

He/she will be responsible for leading the inside sales efforts of the Custom Projects business unit as well as actively participating and collaborating within the various inside sales units at ALM. The individual will manage the daily sales activities to close business, including the expansion/promotion of existing services and the launch of new business initiatives. This person will also be responsible for assuming direct sales interaction as needed.

The ideal candidate will have intensive experience with inside sales, customer interaction and sales management, including the direct oversight of sales representatives. He/she will have demonstrated strong creativity and drive to achieve with clear positive results and will have shown inspired leadership of both direct reports and fellow team members.

The Director of Sales reports directly to the Vice President, Inside Sales, and accepts additional guidance from ALM’s SVP, Sales.

•Sales Management - manages the inside sales team to consistently meet and exceed sales targets by coaching and building the team for success. Develop a clear and effective vision to achieve common revenue goals. Responsible for close coordination with the Director of Custom Projects to identify and execute on opportunities for revenue growth. Leads by example, taking a proactive and customer focused approach.
•Business Management – assists with identifying new sources of revenue and in creating programs to maximize bottom-line results from those sources. Conducts competitive analyses of the marketplace to understand opportunities and vulnerabilities. Areas of business development include cross marketing with current partnerships, internal ALM networking, and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
•Product Development – contributes to new or expanded product offerings that extend the scope and reach of the current Custom Projects business portfolio. Engage with other company functions to expand the digital product offerings. Coordinate within ALM to successfully manage these projects through planning and rollout; monitor results to understand the effectiveness of these new initiatives, and suggests changes where appropriate.

•BA/BS degree or higher, preferably related to Business Development, Sales Management or Marketing; MBA a plus.
•7+ years of sales experience with at least 4 years of people management experience.
•Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
•Strong business acumen and professionalism.
•Excellent presentation skills with solid communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to interact with all levels of management.
•Able to motivate diverse personalities and be an influence manager.
•Must be a strong team player, open to new ideas, who is highly motivated with a positive attitude.
•Excellent customer focus and attention to detail.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office with a good knowledge and understanding of cutting edge customer relationship software.
