The Director of On-Air Strategy’s role within the company is to establish strategy, drive game-changing media plans, and to ensure that every element on-air is driving Food Category goals.

•Collaborate with VP to reconcile/support Food Category priorities (TV, digital, new biz, SOS).
•Assess Food Network and Cooking Channel programs, determine prioritization, and articulate media strategy.
•Create innovative media strategies to maximize effectiveness of promotional assets - Inside shows and during breaks.
•Inventory management – Liaise with pricing planning to negotiate promotional time.
•Analyze on-going value and effectiveness of all major promotional initiatives.
•Adapt sales marketing requests to fit into brand strategies/goals.
•Monitor ratings for timely strategy shifts.
•On-Air – Oversee coordinators roles/responsibilities.
•Develop campaigns for external departments –, store, new biz.
•Track, traffic and assess sales marketing promotional allotments.
•Audit breaks to assess brand representation, considering NAS, ASM, local.
•Competitive analysis
•Linear and partner campaign post analysis.

Partner with Off-Air Manager to understand and collaborate on:

•Establishing communication strategy and positioning for network priorities.
•Researching, selecting, planning and executing barter campaigns with sister and competitive cable networks.

At least eight years of successful experience in an agency and/or entertainment media experience from a cable or broadcast network is preferred.
