The Digital Web Strategist will report to the President & CEO. The Digital Web Strategist holds the primary responsibility of managing all web-based content for the BGA in collaboration with the BGA’s investigative, advocacy, civic engagement, communications and development teams.

This position is responsible for a content-centric group (web publishing, editing, HTML, social media, basic design, web analytics) but with added focus on communications and fundraising. The Web Strategist will manage all existing digital communications platforms including but not limited to blogs, e-broadcasts, email marketing, display-based graphics and copy, unique campaign sub- and micro sites and social media. The Digital Specialist will also be a key point of contact for building and executing marketing and development initiatives that have online components.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate all BGA digital properties (anchor website, blogs, microsites, social media,
broadcast system, e-advocacy campaigns, etc.)
2. Manage the BGA’s providers such as (the BGA’s web developer), Salsa-
Wired for Change (donations & e-broadcasts), freelancers, outside illustrators, designers,
3. Publish BGA content (copy, photos, illustrations, video) to websites seamlessly and quickly.
4. Function as an editor for BGA content.
5. Work with BGA communications, development and marketing teams to build short- and
long-term campaigns.
6. Staff the Board Committee on Technology.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree
· Four year track record in website publishing
· Experience in web page design
· Knowledge of web programming techniques and protocols
· Skilled with Adobe CS
· Knowledge of multiple operating systems
· Knowledge and experience with web scripting and programming languages, graphical
operating systems, open source technologies as well as on-line services and secure
· Knowledge of database and software applications
· Social media, YouTube/Vimeo and Wordpress content management experience.
· Excellent writing skills
· Proven commitment to accuracy
· Ability to communicate effectively both on and offline
· Ability to work independently and react quickly
· Interest in and basic knowledge of state and local Illinois government expected
