This role is integral to Guinness World Records for maintaining record integrity and prestige. The records manager is a record applicant’s first point of contact with Guinness World Records, expected to deliver the highest standards of customer care. Responsible for researching and writing guidelines for record attempts in various categories and processing all received record claims according to provided guidelines. Travel to record attempts to act as the official Adjudicator, communicating and ensuring guidelines are met. Support and liaise with other departments to contribute to the creation, promotion and sales of Guinness World Records products.

•Respond to 7,500 general e-mail/web inquiries a year
•Research new record categories and write suitable guidelines for the attempts
•Update existing guidelines to reflect changes in record areas
•Review record evidence, upholding the GWR standards to maintain fair competition
•Maintain and process expedited record inquiries in a specified time frame
•Provide creative brainstorming/research to assist with record pitches to corporate clients
•Liaise with PR/Marketing about upcoming records with reference to PR value
•Communicate to TV/PR/EDITOR with valuable content for usage
•Field potential licensees by directing to the correct contact
•Send official Guinness World Records certificates
•Travel a minimum of approximately 15-20 events per year- nationally and internationally to verify records, and arrange necessary agreements for our presence

1-3 years in a professional work environment
Bachelor’s degree required

• Enthusiastic with a passion for the Guinness World Records brand
•Excellent communication skills; in a team environment, interpersonally, public speaking, as well as writing
•Cultural and international sensitivity
•Meticulous attention to detail
•Computer literacy, with experience working with internal databases
•Experience in customer service, with the general public and business to business
•Ability to work effectively in a team and with other GWR departments
•Ability to prioritize and manage personal time
•Results orientated
•Fluent in a second language desired but not required (Spanish, Portuguese preferred)
