BRIC is the community access television organization for Brooklyn. Its community media programs offer residents free access to media production facilities and equipment and low-cost media education through the Brooklyn Center for Media Education. BRIC's community media programming also includes three programming initiatives aired on the 4-channel BCAT-TV Network: community-produced Brooklyn Free Speech TV; BRIC-produced, Brooklyn-focused Brooklyn Independent Television; and Brooklyn Bulletin Board, a 24/7 looping announcement service used by Brooklyn non-profits.

Purpose of Position: BRIC seeks experienced media professionals to teach the Basic Television Studio Production course to Brooklyn residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the BCME Manager of Education, the Television Studio Production Instructors' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction to classes of up to twelve adults
- Evaluate students' progress and verify competence for certification to use our media center main studio, control room, mini studio, and studio equipment
- Meet regularly with the Manager of Education to review curriculum and class outcomes

- Experience teaching television studio production to adults
- Experience working with a diverse public with varying levels of technical skill

Skills Required
- Expertise in television studio operations: directing, control room operations, chroma keying, video switcher, character generator, teleprompter, robotic camera, microphones, and audio soundboard
- Ability to be highly organized and detail oriented
- Flexible schedule with possible weekend work

Compensation & Schedule
$28/hour; each course is 24 teaching hours, not including additional preparation time. Class runs 4 weeks, on Mondays & Wednesdays from 1-4pm.
