Global Strategy Group (GSG) seeks a motivated, organized and goal-oriented individual to fill a challenging position in our growing NY Communications practice.

Responsibilities:
•Serve as the day-to-day account leader, client relationship manager and chief media relations liaison on multiple accounts
•Provide thoughtful strategic counsel to senior executives at client organizations and within GSG
•Oversee the activities and work product of junior team members
•Create and manage budgets; monitor utilization of team members to ensure effective and efficient application of firm resources
•Lead strategic communications planning initiatives that incorporate traditional and digital communications channels and platforms
•Draft and edit a wide range of client-facing materials, including strategic memos, PowerPoint presentations, new business proposals, communications plans, message documents, press releases, statements
•Work with senior practitioners across the firm on business planning and new business development, including the creation of pitch presentations and RFP responses, as well as lead generation and networking
•Manage, recruit and mentor qualified team members and existing staff

Qualifications:
•7+ years progressive experience in public affairs, public relations and/or crisis management, preferably for a national or New York-based consulting firm
•Experience managing engagements with a range of clients in both the private and public sector
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization, prioritization, and project management skills
•Direct experience managing and mentoring junior staff
•Ability to juggle multiple assignments while maintaining high quality work product and careful attention to detail
•Experience working with and managing media relations with, and on behalf of, high-profile individuals
•Experience pitching and managing placement of stories in national outlets
•Proven track record of growing existing client engagements and winning new business
•Experience working in a large networked agency as well as a small boutique firm a plus
•Experience in politics, government a plus

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required. Masters degree a plus.
