Qualifications: College degree with communications degree preferred. Significant industry experience directing in a live news environment. Must present working and operational knowledge of all control room and studio technical positions. Must be familiar with all aspects of live television and pre / post production including the operation of multi image display control software. (Electrosonics or Vista preferred). The ideal candidate will have experience with virtual studios. Must possess a desire to research, present and implement new technologies, processes and/or procedures as they are implemented and a willingness to work in other areas as assigned. Flexibility, innovation and effective problem solving skills are key factors for a successful candidate.

Duties: Direct or TD/Direct (combo) live and taped telecasts, and/or presentations remote or in studio. This includes but not limited to; show design and format, formal and informal rehearsals, set design, lighting, blocking, graphics, show changes, music, sight survey, set-up and post mortem analysis. Supervise the technical crew assigned to live and taped telecasts and/or presentations. Direction and operation of studio multi-image studio display systems. Clearly articulate and advise the technical crew of show needs and expectations. Meet and participate with editorial staff members throughout the day and prior to the show for the purpose of daily and future planning. Supervise or act as Director / TD for any show related production. Participate in the annual performance evaluations of technical and editorial staff. Provide detailed documentation of highlights and lowlights via daily show/shift reports and accurate reporting in various formats. Assist operations management to ensure the client(s) and needs are met during all production and proactively create documents to continue to refine and enhance the overall program. Ability to provide solid business rationale for major production requests and changes. Quarterly meetings with Network Creative Director and Technical Operations Director for show reviews, planning, etc.
