The primary responsibilities are to secure media coverage and manage proactive publicity opportunities for a variety of clients.

•Complete communication initiatives and audience identification
•Manage and improve media relations; ensure quality and consistency
•Edit and ensure the excellence of media materials
•Understand the focus and needs of the clients; anticipate client needs in advance
•Identify opportunities for the client and monitor trends; proactively initiating coverage
•Execute media outreach and feature pitching
•Strengthen and establish relationships with the media
•Develop a variety of press materials including timelines, press releases, media alerts, photo captions, client memos, pitch letters, status reports, and gossip items
•Proactively identify issues as part of media relations and recommend solutions/media opportunities
•Screen media inquiries
•Call on and track editorial calendars for clients

Education and Experience Required:
•BA/BS Degree is preferred
•3.5 years minimum experience in public relations
•Strong media relations contact with key broadcast, print and online producers/editors

Knowledge and Skills Required:
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Detail oriented and results oriented
•Ability to prioritize while simultaneously working on numerous projects
