InStyle magazine, the #1 brand for fashion and beauty content, will be capitalizing on its already considerable digital success with an aggressive roadmap of new product launches on web, mobile and tablet. We are looking for a Product Director with the creative chops, project management expertise, technical understanding and familiarity with this content category to fully oversee all new product development from initial concept through launch, ongoing management and expansion. For the right person with a solid track record of delivering truly superior consumer products to market, this is a rare opportunity to literally run the roadmap for InStyle’s digital future. This position reports directly to the Managing Editor of InStyle.

The right candidate for this position will have:
-7+ years of project/product management experience
-A portfolio of 5+ major products over which they held primary responsibility for development and launch.
-The ability to think creatively. We are not looking for someone to simply execute a previously developed blueprint. We want someone to bring their own vision and experienced-fueled perspective to the products.
-An extensive knowledge of the technologies used in developing and managing content-driven products and the ability to communicate tech information to non-technical members of staff.
-The ability to weave the needs and contributions of many different stakeholder groups into one cohesive workflow. The right candidate will be capable of working with everyone from editorial, IT, design, legal, consumer marketing and ad sales in a leadership capacity.
-Past experience within the style category is highly desired. At a minimum, candidates should have a track record with consumer-facing product for women.

oEnsure delivery of superior products on time and within budget
oDefine strategy, roadmap, developing the core positioning and messaging for all InStyle Digital products
oDeliver prioritized product features and corresponding justification
oAssess opportunities, investigate and recommend new / enhancements to existing products in which you have been assigned
oAbility to analyze product performance and recommend improvements (ex. Tracking metrics monthly for 6 months post-launch, and quarterly on-going)
oDevelop business cases, staffing plans, and / or budgets to support new / existing products
oWork closely with editorial, marketing, sales, design, technology and legal to achieve and maintain product goals (ex. Product performance with consumers)
oAbility to own and manage multiple products and hand-off non-priority products to other teams
oParticipate in business & product management strategy sessions
oBe an expert with respect to the competition within your set of products
oEnsure all products fit within InStyle brand and company strategy
