Editor in Chief; Enterprise IT Publishing Group
FierceMarkets, one of the fastest-growing digital publishers in B-to-B media, is seeking a smart, savvy entrepreneurial and experienced Editor-in-Chief to lead our fast-growing Enterprise IT publishing group. At a minimum, the successful candidate will have proven journalistic experience within the Enterprise IT sector (and perhaps also as an IT worker), demonstrable working knowledge of online publishing metrics, a proven ability to boost web traffic (without resorting to cheap “click bait” strategies), web content management systems, email newsletter management platforms (such as Silverpop or other high-end email programs). Most importantly, we are seeking a candidate who has extensive experience managing a growing editorial staff and a team of freelancers.We are located in Washington, DC, but this can be a “work from home” opportunity for the right candidate.DAILY TASKS INCLUDE:•Editorial & Content DevelopmentoDevelopment of editorial calendarsoDevelopment of special reports/features, webinars and eBooksoEnsuring quality control among freelancers and full time staff•Editorial Leadership, Management & StrategyoIndustry relations, including public speaking and travel to major IT conferences/eventsoActing as the “Public Face” of the FierceMarkets Enterprise IT publishing groupoConduct regular editorial strategy meetingsoAct as a mentor for direct reports within the editorial staff•Company Leadership & PresenceoActively seek new ways to help the company achieve goals and visionoProvide strategic input that helps to grow the businessoEmbrace an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership responsibility for your departmentMUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:•10 years digital media experience, plus additional experience working in the B-to-B publishing sector. While print publishing experience is of interest, the successful candidate must have deep knowledge of and experience within digital publishing.•The ability to work within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment.•Experience managing a team of writers and freelancers•An understanding of social media.
