Internship
A great opportunity to get experience with an award-winning publication for youth: KidSpirit Online is seeking an editorial and social media marketing intern. The position is for 10 to 15 hours a week, along with a two-hour Editorial Board meeting once a month. The intern will attend monthly meetings of the all-youth Editorial Board in Brooklyn, helping to facilitate discussion and document editorial notes for young writers; and will expand KidSpirit’s social media outreach on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Google+, Slideshare, and Tumblr.

This is a fast-growing organization and the internship is an opportunity to develop a variety of skills in a team environment. Most of the work will be independent and virtual, but will involve working closely on the phone with editors. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about working with middle and early high school teens, or someone with a particular interest in spirituality, philosophy, English, journalism, PR, or marketing. Good organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills are imperative. Preference will be given to candidates interested in committing nine months or more to grow in the position.

The internship is non-paying, but travel reimbursement for Editorial Board meetings will be provided. For the right candidate, the internship could grow into a paid position. Hours can be applied for course credit.
