Responsibilities:Plans, establishes and achieves targeted financial budget and market share goals.Monitors local sales activity on a weekly basis from internal sources.Monitors performance of local Account Executives through on-going evaluation of individual billing, share increases, and new business development.Leads the local sales team to success at selling specials, pre-and post sale efforts, and attention to buyer's and station's needs. This includes developing quality relationships with decision makers at every level of the client and prospects business.Provides direction and guidance in developing sales goals and strategies to effectively meet those goals by providing detailed quarterly and annual sales plans.Provides quarterly evaluation and assessment of account executives and members of the sales team.Works with the traffic department to monitor and manage local sales inventory and pricing.Plans, organizes, and distributes game ticket and luxury suite invitations and allocation for each of our team partner hospitality opportunities.Develops and monitors prospecting of major new business accounts with entire local sales team.Provides weekly training for local sales team. Plans and runs weekly sales meetings, updating team on inventory, programming opportunities, internal protocols and guidelines.Works on developing individual accounts and developing major new business. Manages a schedule of assigning Account Executives to host clients at team partner events. (Games)Assists and oversees Account Executives preparation and presentation of sales materials for general and major events.Packages available airtime and decides rates to be charged using station's commercial rate card as a guide for use of the Account Executives with their buyers.Develops and maintains relationships with agencies and clients to promote station's image. Responsible for training, evaluating, and hiring local sales staff, which includes constant development of relationships with potential qualified hires.Maintains a customer friendly attitude and dedication to customer needs. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Has punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.Qualifications:Four to six years experience in television sales. Previous sales management experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing/communications or advertising, or equivalent related experience. Required analytical and technical skills to analyze the markets, package, price and sell available airtime. Must demonstrate knowledge of sales, research, agency operations, training, motivation, directions and evaluation of sales staff performance. Requires a thorough knowledge of ratings and strategies of each station. Must demonstrate effective negotiation, oral and written communication skills to communicate with and influence internal and external contacts.
