Your tasks
The Random House Digital Channel and Online Marketing group is seeking a Web Developer to join their team. The Web Application Developer will be responsible for supporting randomhouse.com as well as developing new online and mobile sites and technologies.

The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
?Maintain and enhance existing word press websites and work with other internal teams (especially IT) to see that systems that are properly integrated
?Develop websites using responsive design and to the designer specification
?Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
?Develop database-driven Web interfaces
?Develop the current site(s) allowing users to input and retrieve information

The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:
?Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
?Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
?Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized
?Experiece with hardware and software issues

Our requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience Preferred:
?Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience
?Proven experience with PL/SQL and relational databases
?Understanding of the Oracle database environment
?Expertise in Word Press
?Working knowledge of JavaScript (JQuery and other javascript libraries)
?Familiarity of SEO best practices frontend and backend
?Hands-on experience developing web based applications using HTML5/CSS, AJAX, some developing of XML/XSD
?Understanding of PHP
?Experience developing mobile sites
?An understanding of Web-Services including an understanding of ecommerce
?Graphic design ability a plus
?The ability to communicate and teach non-technical users a must.
?Excellent written and oral communications skills
?Strong attention to detail
?Respond proactively to training, technical support and customer service needs in line with provided guidelines
?Familiarity with the publishing industry nice but not necessary
