Responsibilities include:

· Planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns for Media products across all Bedford disciplines, using digital marketing tools, print pieces, activities and events. An emphasis will be on developing strong messages and brand identities for Bedford media products.
· Effectively launching products internally and externally.

o Communicating essential product information to the sales force, including information about sales strategies and competing technology.
o Preparing consistent sales and marketing tools (such as online demos, documentation, demo scripts, and competition information).
o Developing and implementing technology training and certification procedures for the sales staff.
o Overseeing media product roll-outs, including reviewing, beta testing, class testing, focus groups, and impact events.
o Helping develop and implement plans for customer training, service, and ongoing support.
· Acting as a conduit of information for all groups at Macmillan who are involved with technology: marketing, editorial, sales, central media, eLearning Specialists, faculty advocates.
· Working with sales representatives to open up sales situations, close sales, and gather market feedback.
· Collaborating with colleagues to conduct market research that ensures careful development of educational technologies that meet market needs. This includes gathering market intelligence and executing competitive strategies for selling Bedford Media, including details for timing, pricing, packaging, sell through, and institutional sales.
· Planning and conducting product training sessions at two National Sales Meetings per year. This includes helping to set the agenda, directing and rehearsing presenters, coordinating collateral materials, building modules in the online learning space, and running the sessions.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree
· 3 or more years of successful sales or marketing experience in college textbook publishing or in educational technology businesses
· Excellently demonstrated proficiency and comfort in the humanities
· Excellently demonstrated product knowledge in media, knowledge of trends in new media across the humanities, and proficiency with new media
· Knowledge of social media marketing and SEO a plus.
· Strong demonstrated ability to close adoptions involving media products
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Willingness to travel nationally
