Required Skills

•Partner with the Book Division leadership team, including Publishing, Editorial, and Marketing, to fund growth, while maintaining financial discipline
•Manage the financial resources and conduct resource planning for future needs.
•Lead the financial budgeting and business plan development processes, including strategic planning, annual and monthly budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations
•Monitor business performance and takes steps to improve performance
•Create and track business plans for major initiatives
•Responsible for Book’s financial management reporting and analysis
•Develop and oversee the internal review function to ensure that financial and operational controls and policies are effective
•Recommend and approve all print quantities
•Prepare proforma p&l’s and makes recommendations on all major initiatives and provides post-mortem analysis
•Manage and approve all promotion plans to maximize return on investment and overall margin
•Provide coaching, guidance and support; create professional development plans for staff to reach their full potential through the performance management process
•Expertise in finance and accounting methodologies
•Working knowledge of financial management software such as: Hyperion, Oracle or SAP
•Advanced facilitation and communication skills
•Strong skills in people management
•Exceptional knowledge of computer software with keen aptitude in Microsoft Office (Excel)

Required Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, preferred
•Knowledge of financial management (10+ years or relevant work experience)
•Experience with book revenues and cost drivers
