This position is an opportunity for a highly energetic, well-organized individual to commission and manage book projects in Linguistics, Philosophy, and Religion at an advanced level and to gain experience in book commissioning.

The Commissioning Editor is responsible for acquiring a large number of titles for the Routledge Research program and bringing them successfully to market. S/he will need to communicate across different departments and across the global editorial department. The job will also include the co-management of an Editorial Assistant.

The Routledge Research program is Routledge’s home for cutting-edge scholarly books and is one of the largest and most distinctive monograph book programs in academic publishing. Routledge Research was created in 1995 and has since expanded to include all areas of the Social Sciences and Humanities.

Qualifications:

BA or equivalent educational experience. Minimum two years publishing or related experience. Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability. Applicants should have strong interpersonal, written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and computer skills. Strong database management skills, including Word and Excel. Willingness to travel.
