AOL is seeking a Editor in Chief for AOL.com, one of the internet's largest websites. The programming lead will drive the content and programming strategy for AOL.com – which aspires to be the most web’s most compelling curated content aggregator. He or she will lead AOL.com’s 15 person programming team and own the AOL.com’s content selection, scheduling, and promotion function. The lead will also drive special events and franchises that can define and differentiate the AOL brand. The position reports to the SVP and GM of AOL.com.

- Enforce programming standards that are in line with AOL’s brand
- Set and meet traffic targets based on strategic and business needs
- Design and develop special events and other programming that define the AOL brand
- Modify content based on audience segment and platform (e.g., mobile, mail sign in page)
- Partner with the AOL On video team to develop brand defining video content
- Use data, analytics, and testing to improve programming over time
- Give guidance to AOL.com’s product and technology teams on product vision, CMS design, product enhancements, and content distribution opportunities
- Manage third party content providers – finding and identifying them and guiding them on audience tastes, franchise promotability, and high engagement topics
- Ensure strong promotions that drive high click rate, balanced by a strong user experience and meeting business and strategic objectives
- Set and articulate a vision for the AOL.com content strategy – tailored to the existing AOL.com audience and adjacent audience growth segments
- Lead the AOL.com programming/editorial team in selecting stories, assigning stories, and writing promotional copy

- 10 years experience in digital media editorial or programming
- Product/Programming vision on what a next generation content aggregation experience
- Facility with technology, analytics, and segmentation/personalization
- Strong skills writing high impact promotional copy
- Prior management experience of editorial/programming teams
- Excellent judgment and taste on what mass internet audience wants to watch on their portal
